Day 00: Arrival At Kilimanjaro International Airport(September 4)

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly welcomed and driven to your accommodation in Arusha. Settle in, relax, and adjust to the time zone after your journey.

Day 01: Arusha To Tarangire National Park(September 5)

Today, after a hearty breakfast, We set off for the diverse landscapes of Tarangire National Park. Known for its impressive elephant population and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers an incredible start to your safari. Spend the day immersed in the raw beauty of the park, spotting languid giraffes, playful zebras, and elegant antelopes. Our expert guide will lead you to scenic vantage points for optimal wildlife viewing.

Day 02: Journey to Central Serengeti(September 6)

Journey to the heart of Serengeti National Park, famed for its immense herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. Get ready to witness the dramatic gatherings of wildlife. Here you will photograph all kinds of amazing animals and birds. Stop for sunset photograph before you arrive at Kon Tik Tented Camp.. The camp offers an immersive wilderness experience, combining comfort with the raw beauty of the Serengeti. Spend the night here, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti(September 7)

Venture northwards to the Northern Serengeti, an area renowned for the thrilling Mara River crossings during every migration. Here you can anticipate dramatic wildlife scenes as wildebeests and zebras face the challenge of crossing crocodile-laden waters. Stay this night at the Northern Serengeti Kon Tik Tented Camp, which offers front-row views of these unforgettable natural spectacles.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti(September 8)

Spend another night at the Northern Serengeti Kon Tik Tented Camp, enjoying its unique offerings and the vibrant life surrounding it.

For those seeking an extraordinary adventure, an optional hot air balloon flight is available at dawn, providing a stunning aerial view of the Serengeti’s remarkable ecosystem and the chance to witness the Great Migration from above. Day 5: Central Serengeti(September 9)

Return to the Central Serengeti, known for its rich diversity and abundance of wildlife drawn to the Seronera River. This area provides exceptional chances to capture iconic African wildlife amidst its natural habitat. Visit a Maasai village, photograph the residents and learn more about their diverse culture. Enjoy your stay at the Central Serengeti Kon Tik Tented Camp, where each evening is a tranquil retreat after thrilling safari days.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater-Karatu(September 10th)

Travel to the mesmerizing Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the renowned Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an unmatched wildlife viewing experience in a stunning geological caldera. Hopefully we might photograph the endangered black rhino. Cap off your day with a stay at Aileen’s Treehouse in Karatu, where you can unwind amidst serene natural surroundings.

Day 7: Cultural Exploration & Return to Arusha(September 11th)

On your final day, engage with local tribal communities and learn about their rich cultural heritage. Visit the Hadzabe bushmen, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes, and the Datoga tribe, known for their intricate blacksmithing skills. As we head back to Arusha, we stop a store for last minute souvenir shopping. After this enriching experience, return to Arusha in the late afternoon for a restful night before your journey home.

Departure From Arusha(September 12th)

Conclude your safari adventure and prepare for departure. You’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight, bidding farewell to Tanzania but taking with you a trove of unforgettable memories and stunning photographs.

Dr. Mark Winter has been a photographer all of his life. He currently lives and works in the Sacramento, California area and maintains a studio catering to the photographic needs of photographers from throughout the Northern California area. He and his wife recently took this identical safari and is excited to share his experience with others.
