Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

You start the day with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha. On arrival, your safari guide meets you and briefs you before the drive to Tarangire National Park. The drive is scenic and passes Maasai villages and open countryside.

In Tarangire, wildlife appears quickly. Large elephant herds move along the river, while giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest roam the plains. Lions often rest in the shade of baobab trees. You enjoy a long game drive and take time to observe animals at a relaxed pace.

In the late afternoon, you drive to Karatu. Dinner and overnight stay are at Eileen’s Tree Inn, surrounded by gardens and fresh air.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

After an early breakfast, you depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Soon after, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas.

The crater floor offers outstanding game viewing. You may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. With some luck, you may also spot the rare black rhino. The scenery remains dramatic throughout the drive.

You enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater. Later, you ascend and return to Karatu. Dinner and overnight stay are again at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park & Fly Back to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you head to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is small but very diverse. Dense forests, open grasslands, and the lake shoreline create excellent wildlife conditions.

During the game drive, you may see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and many bird species. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, which are sometimes seen resting on branches.

After the safari and lunch, you drive back to Arusha Airport. You then board your flight back to Zanzibar, marking the end of your 3-day fly-in safari from Zanzibar.
