Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where your driver-guide will meet you. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to Grand Melia Arusha, a modern luxury hotel set among lush gardens and coffee fields.

After check-in, take time to relax after your flight. You can enjoy the pool, the spa, or a quiet drink with views of Mount Meru. In the evening, share a romantic dinner at the hotel restaurant. Your guide will brief you about the safari plan and answer any questions.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Giants of the Savannah

After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. The road journey usually takes about two and a half hours. On the way, you pass small villages, Maasai bomas, and rolling countryside.

Enter Tarangire and start your first full Tanzania honeymoon game drive. This park is famous for large elephant herds, baobab trees, and impressive views over the Tarangire River. You may also see lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and many bird species.

You enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park at a scenic spot. In the afternoon, continue your game drive as the light softens and the animals become more active. Later, you exit the park and drive to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge, set on the shores of the lake.

Check into your tented room and unwind on the veranda. Enjoy sunset over Lake Burunge, then sit down for a cozy dinner under the stars. It is a gentle, romantic start to your northern Tanzania safari.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Rift Valley Beauty

After breakfast, drive towards Lake Manyara National Park at the base of the Great Rift Valley. The park is compact yet very scenic. It offers forest, open floodplains, and lake shore in a small area.

Enter the park for a relaxed game drive. You may see elephants moving through the forest, troops of baboons, and, with luck, the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. The lake often holds large flocks of flamingos and many other water birds.

You stop for lunch at a picnic site or at a viewpoint overlooking the lake. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park’s different habitats. Because the park is small, game viewing feels intimate and unhurried.

Later, leave the park and drive up the escarpment to Kitela Lodge in Karatu. The lodge sits on a coffee estate, surrounded by green hills and gardens. Enjoy the pool, views over the valley, and a relaxed dinner. The setting feels peaceful and romantic, ideal for a honeymoon evening.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Big Five in a Lost World

Today you visit the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s best wildlife areas. After an early breakfast, drive to the crater rim. The views into the caldera are stunning, especially in the soft morning light.

Descend onto the crater floor for a full game drive. The crater is home to all of the Big Five. You have good chances to see lions, buffalos, and large bull elephants. With some luck, you may also spot a rare black rhino. Plains game such as zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles are plentiful.

You stop at a picnic site, often near a hippo pool, for lunch. Then you continue exploring different parts of the crater, from open grasslands to fever tree groves. The wildlife density here is very high, so every hour can bring new sightings.

In the late afternoon, ascend to the rim and drive to Lion’s Paw Camp, located close to one of the descent roads. The camp combines comfort and a classic safari feel. Enjoy hot showers, a warm drink by the fire, and a romantic dinner with views into the misty highlands.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Into the Endless Plains

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park. You drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and enter the Serengeti near Naabi Hill Gate. The landscape opens into wide plains, and wildlife sightings increase as you go deeper.

Enjoy a game drive on the way to Central Serengeti (Seronera). This area is rich in year-round wildlife. It is especially known for big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. You may also see large herds of zebras and wildebeest, depending on the season.

Arrive at Kubukubu Tented Lodge, set on a hill with sweeping views. Check into your tented suite and relax on your private deck. Later, enjoy a sundowner as the sky changes color over the plains.

At night, share a candle-lit dinner in the dining area. The sounds of the bush around camp make this a classic Serengeti honeymoon safari experience.

Day 6: Central Serengeti – Full Day Big Cat Country

Today you enjoy a full day in Central Serengeti. You can choose your preferred rhythm. Many couples like an early start, a relaxed lunch break, and an afternoon drive.

Set out at dawn for the best light and wildlife activity. Predators often move at this time. You may find lions on a fresh kill or a leopard returning to its tree. Your guide will follow tracks and behavior to find the most interesting encounters.

You can return to Kubukubu for a hot brunch and a short rest by the pool. Alternatively, stay out all day with a packed lunch for a longer game drive. Your guide adapts to your energy and interests.

In the afternoon, you explore different valleys and kopjes in the Seronera region. This variety increases your chances of new sightings and great photos. As the sun sets, you head back to camp for another relaxed evening, complete with good food and starry skies.

If you wish, you can add an optional hot-air balloon safari at sunrise today. It is a magical way to celebrate your honeymoon, drifting silently above the plains. (This activity can be arranged in advance.)

Day 7: Serengeti to Zanzibar – From Savannah to Sea

After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive in Serengeti, depending on your flight time. Then transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. The journey usually includes beautiful aerial views of the plains and then the Indian Ocean.

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you are met and transferred to Z Hotel in Nungwi, on the island’s northern tip. This stylish boutique hotel sits directly on a white-sand beach with clear turquoise water.

Check into your room and take time to unwind. You can walk on the beach, swim in the pool, or simply relax on a lounger. In the evening, enjoy sunset over the ocean, followed by a romantic dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant. Your Zanzibar honeymoon has begun.

Day 8: Zanzibar – Beach Time, Snorkeling, and Sunsets

Today is all about relaxation and light adventure. After a leisurely breakfast facing the sea, you can choose how active you want to be.

Popular options include a snorkeling or diving trip to nearby reefs. The waters around Nungwi offer colorful coral, tropical fish, and warm temperatures. This is a pleasant way to share a fun experience together. Another option is a sunset dhow cruise, where you sail along the coast in a traditional wooden boat with drinks on board.

If you prefer a slow day, stay at the hotel. Enjoy the infinity pool, a couple’s massage, and long walks on the beach. The northern coast usually has calm swimming conditions and beautiful sunsets.

In the evening, dine at the hotel restaurant or try one of Nungwi’s beachfront spots. Fresh seafood and gentle music complete the day.

Day 9: Zanzibar – Stone Town, Spice Tour, or Pure Relaxation

After breakfast, you again decide the pace. For a mix of culture and scenery, you can take a day trip to Stone Town. The old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow streets, carved doors, and a blend of Swahili, Arab, and European history.

You may combine Stone Town with a spice tour on a local farm. There you see, smell, and taste spices such as cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and vanilla. This experience connects well with Zanzibar’s nickname, the “Spice Island.”

If you prefer to stay by the sea, you can organize a kayaking or stand-up paddle session, another snorkeling trip, or a visit to a nearby sandbank. However, many honeymoon couples simply choose another peaceful beach day.

Return to Z Hotel for your final island sunset. Enjoy a special dinner and perhaps a celebratory cocktail as you look back on your journey from savannah to sea.

Day 10: Farewell – Departure from Zanzibar

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with ocean views. Depending on your flight time, you may have a few final hours for swimming or a last walk on the beach. Then your driver will transfer you to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight.

Your Tanzania honeymoon safari and Zanzibar luxury escape comes to an end here. You leave with shared memories of wildlife, sunsets, and quiet moments together that will last for years.
